Sufiyat with Yashraaj is a Bolly-Sufi and Qawwali live experience led by Yashraj Kapil, a classically trained playback singer and a finalist on Indian Idol and Sur Kshetra. The set blends timeless Sufi and Qawwali repertoire with Bollywood Sufi hits, heartfelt shayari and a modern soundscape.
It is built around a full band of skilled musicians and classically trained backing vocalists rather than a single vocalist with tracks — which is what lets the evening build, from a traditional qawwali opening through to the Bollywood Sufi numbers most guests already know by heart.
For celebrations where the music is meant to hold the room and carry emotion rather than run the dance floor from the first minute, this is the format. Where the brief is a dance-floor-first night, Tanush feat. Tanu & Yashraaj is usually the better fit.

How long does Sufiyat perform?
The set runs 120++ minutes. Exact structure across the evening is agreed with you before the date.
How many musicians are in the band?
Ten on stage — 1 lead vocalist, 2 backing vocalists, tabla, dholak & percussion, drums, flute, bass guitar, lead guitar and keyboard — travelling with a sound engineer, artist manager and videographer, for a touring party of 13.
What kind of music does the set cover?
Traditional Qawwalis, Bollywood Sufi hits and shayari, produced with a contemporary soundscape rather than performed as a purely classical recital.
Is Sufiyat suitable for a sangeet?
Yes. Sangeets are one of the functions the act is built for, alongside weddings, cultural evenings and private celebrations.
